About Sportal

What we do

Sportal makes it easier for adults to play recreational sports. We help players find pickup games, pickup groups, and rec leagues near them. Organizers and team managers get free tools to handle rosters, RSVPs, and finding subs.

Our story

Sportal was founded by Adam Ross Russell. After moving to Portland, Oregon, he struggled to find pickup games and rec leagues. Over the next decade, he played on and managed coed indoor soccer teams and ran pickup groups. Along the way, he dealt with endless group texts, clunky team management apps, and last-minute scrambles for subs. Sportal is the app he wished he'd had.

How our directory works

Our league and pickup listings link to independent organizations, groups, and apps. We find them with the help of automated research tools and review them before they're published. Schedules, prices, and availability change often, so always confirm details with the organizer before you go.

Sportal isn't affiliated with the organizations we list unless we say so. If a listing is out of date or wrong, use the flag icon next to it to report it and we'll take a look.
